ABOUT GESHE SONAM DAWA

Geshe Lharampa Sonam Dawa the founder of peace ling center was born at Tongdey, Zanskar, in north India. In 1985 at the age of 10 he joined Drepung Gomang monastic university in south India, where he studied the five treatises of Buddhist philosophy for 21 years. In 2006 at the age of 31, he successfully completed his final exams, and was awarded of the degree of Geshe Lharampa (doctorate in Buddhist philosophy in the Tibetan tradition).

Geshe la has been a pure vegetarian since 1990 and loves animal very much. Geshe la is also on the Board of Director of Tibetan Volunteer for Animals (TVA) – www.FreeAnimal.org
